What’s in it

Each case file’s structured fields and the archive’s own short text: title, date, place, region, report type, close-encounter classification, a short status verdict, and a brief summary, plus map coordinates and a link to the full case file. The sources table is the heart of it: every document, newspaper report, book, interview, and video the case files cite, in the order they appear. The data is generated from the same files as the website each time the site is built, so it always matches what you read here. The files are in English.

What’s left out

Images and the long-form story, evidence, and timeline sections stay on the site. Photographs and documents come from many archives, each under its own license, and the stories read better with their pictures and citations in place.

Questions and corrections

Found a wrong date, a misplaced map marker, or a source link that no longer works? Have a question about using the data? Write to hello@uap.fun. Corrections are made in the case files themselves, so they reach the website and the next version of the dataset together.

How it was made

uap.fun is an independent archive, not an official or authoritative register of UFO reports. Its case files are researched and drafted with AI, then put through separate fact-checking passes that test each substantive claim against the sources it cites; the editor spot-checks finished pages, but not every page is read by a person before it goes live. The selection of cases reflects the archive’s interest in notable and well-documented stories, not every sighting ever reported. Check what matters against the sources, and write to hello@uap.fun if you find a mistake.
